- Fifty + years of racing First Race - Hatfield Speedway 1951 Liberty Stock Car Association – run by Pat Ciambrello & Stan Malamud Stock Car # 26A and 26 (’36 Ford Coupe, ’39 Ford Coupe, and two ’37 Ford Coupes) Joined Nascar in 1952 and ran Morristown, Pittman, Old Bridge. At times ran for Al Tibbets in the Percy #92 car. While at Fort Jackson, SC ran a stock car a few times at Aiken Speedway. 1953 – 1954 Anchorage, AK ran the #32 California Roadster for Ralph Wilkenson. 1955 ran the #53 (’37 Ford Coupe) with Nascar at Morristown, Flemington and Old Bridge. 1956 Father’s heart attack forced the sale of race car and a promise not to race. Attended ARDC races and worked with Bobby Scheaffer in the pits for a few years. 1960-1963 ran GoKarts in Pennsylvania at Bristol Kartway, Ferry’s Kartway, Patrick’s Clover Kartway and RicRah in Bethlehem. 1964 built his first #55 T.Q. Midget (upright) and campaigned with ATQMRA throughout the 60’s and into the 70’s. 1966 won the ATQMRA Championship in the upright. 1966 built the #55 TQ Roadster and went on to win many championships with it over the next few years. Ran a few other TQ’s during this time. (For Benny Trimble, Howard Boyd, Bob Buis, Joe Gimpel and Ted Seiz.) In the late 60’s started running ARDC Midgets as well. Ran for Stanley Branowski, Toth Brothers, Vitucci Brothers. Frank Fahey, Charlie Ulrich, Carl McIlroy, Ros Triol as well as running as an owner/driver. Had to pass up some excellent rides - he did not fit in the cars. Was very successful running Winter Nationals in FL and many races “out West” with USAC. In the late 70’s and early 80’s ran his own Nascar Stock car at Wall Stadium and New Egypt. In the 80’s ran his own Sprint Car with URC and TBARA. Continued to run ARDC Midgets until 1996. Is currently running a Mini-Sprint in FL with FMSA. |
