HOBBY HILL NEWS

Herb Clark won the Grand Champion plaque for his Stearman at Sun & Fun in April.  Herb worked on the Stearman for many years, finishing it too late for Sun & Fun last year, but did win an award at the Stearman Fly-in in Galesburg, IL. last year.
Herb and Dick are still working on rebuilding a Stearman for a friend of Herb's in New York.  It is almost ready for cover.  Other projects are on hold until the Stearman is done.  The Lincoln-Page sits forlorn in a corner, and the Navion still needs polishing.
Our recent new members, Curtis and Traci McClung, are getting their 172 ready for paint.  Curtis has worked out a deal to get it painted the end of May, so he is working hard to get it ready.  Traci says if he doesn't get it done soon, she is going to buy her own airplane.
Gary Wimberly is flying his Champ from time to time.  Gary has been kind of scarce lately.  We aren't sure what he is up to, but between horses and cars he seems to have gotten his priorities confu
sed.

HOBBY HILL UPDATE

Curtis and Traci McClung have finally gotten their 172 painted and are in the process of  getting it back together.  It is a nice paint scheme in white trimmed in blue and grey.  Herb Clark and Dick McLean are still working on two Stearmans.  One is almost covered and the other is ready for cover.  Herb is planning to fly his Stearman to Oshkosh and plans to leave this coming Sunday (7-20).
We are looking forward to hosting the Chapter meeting here next month.  We will also be hosting the Ocala Chapter 812 here the following week.
