| A MAJOR DISPLAY
CELEBRATING THE CENTENNIAL OF FLIGHT On 19 and 20 July 03, Chuck Mosely, Ray Brown, Herb Clark, Dick Krause, and John Macon (all EAA Chapter 1236 members) were joined by Lynn Hunt, Denny Parmer, of Santa Rosa, CA and Sean Mahany, of Sanford, FL on a once in a lifetime adventure . The group traveled to Dover A.F.B. at Dover DE. Their mission was to disassemble a P-51 Mustang, and an F-16 Fighting Falcon which belong to the Air Mobility Command Museum at Dover A.F.B. The two aircraft were than loaded onto two trucks by our crew, and transported to New York City’s Rockefeller Center . Upon arrival of the F-16 on the 23rd and the P-51 on the 24th the aircraft were than reassembled and put on their final display sites at Rockefeller Center . The two aircraft became part of a major display celebrating the Centennial of Flight. The event, sponsored by the Pentagon’s Office for the Centennial of Flight, and Rockefeller Center would run for three weeks. This same group of intrepid travelers will depart again on the 17th of August 03 . Traveling back to New York City, where they will again disassemble these same two aircraft. Load them back onto trucks on the 19th and 20th. And return with the aircraft to Dover A.F.B. There the aircraft will be unloaded, and reassembled, and placed back on display at the Air Mobility Commands Museum. Our group reports outstanding support rendered to them during their task by the Pentagon’s Office for the Centennial of Flight, Air Mobility Command Museum, Dover A.F.B., and all of the Rockefeller Center support staff, as well as the New York City Police Department.
